We all have different backgrounds and experiences that shape who we are today. Many of us experienced normal childhoods, received adequate discipline from our parents, and were guided into the right choices by the people around us. What if that isn't enough? What if, despite overwhelming odds of being "normal", we find ourselves unable to cope, maintain relationships, a job, or a home and end up living on the streets? Could we also be victims to a life of hopelessness?
Below you will hear the story of Misty Light, a woman who had a seemingly normal childhood, but found herself on the streets, addicted to drugs and alcohol, and completely alone. Her story is one that will cause us to reflect on our own life experiences and consider how we may overcome overwhelming odds. It sheds light on "who" your homeless community members are and how they need your help.
